Just as a first aid class helps one to respond in a medical emergency, mental health first aid helps people learn how to respond to a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training, broken down into two 4-hour sessions, gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. A minimum of 10 students is required, and the class is limited to 30 students.
